Miami, FL – March 21, 2025 – Rising Canadian amateur and Team Canada NextGen standout Shauna Liu delivered a commanding performance at the prestigious NXXT Women’s Championship held at LPGA International, March 18-20, 2025. Competing against 72 elite golfers from around the globe, Liu secured her first professional-level victory, reinforcing the NXXT Tour’s ongoing theme for 2025: "The Rise of the New Champions."

Liu’s stellar play across three rounds, marked by remarkable consistency, culminated in scores of 70, 70, and 72, for a tournament total of 4-under-par (212). This victory not only establishes Liu as the 9th first-time winner of the season but also earns her a coveted exemption into the Epson IOA Championship presented by Morongo Casino Resort & Spa, scheduled for April 25-27 in Beaumont, California.

"Winning this championship against such an elite field means the world to me," Liu said after her impressive victory. "I stayed patient and focused on my game plan. Earning the Epson Tour exemption is an incredible bonus, and I'm excited for the opportunity ahead."

Adding to the event’s excitement, a dramatic sudden-death playoff determined the second-place finisher and the recipient of the second Epson Tour exemption. Maisie Filler from Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, triumphed over standout competitor, former US Women's Amateur Champion Jensen Castle from Daniel Island, South Carolina, after both players ended regulation play tied at even-par (216). Filler’s playoff victory secures her place alongside Liu at the Epson IOA Championship.

The tournament also marked the noteworthy professional debut of Skye Two Hawks (Evans, GA), who made an immediate impact with a T4 finish at 1-over-par (217). Additionally, Lauren Peter (New York) delivered another strong performance, also tying for fourth and underscoring her consistent presence near the top of leaderboards this season.

"Shauna Liu’s breakthrough is precisely what the NXXT Tour is all about," commented Stuart McKinnon, CEO of NXXT Golf. "Her victory highlights the incredible depth of talent we're seeing, and we anticipate more thrilling competition at our upcoming National Championship."
