Redefining Professional Golf with Inclusive, Mixed-Gender Competition
Miami, FL – December 4, 2024 — NXXT Golf proudly announces the global expansion of its transformative "Battle of the Sexes" series for 2025. Building on the anticipation surrounding its upcoming inaugural event Dec 9-10 at Orange County National Golf Center, this innovative series will bring together top male and female professional golfers to compete on a level playing field. By promoting inclusivity, fostering equality, and showcasing extraordinary talent, the series aims to reshape the future of professional golf on a global stage.
"The Battle of the Sexes series represents NXXT Golf’s unwavering commitment to driving meaningful change in the sport," said Stuart McKinnon, CEO of NXXT Golf. "The enthusiastic response from players and fans confirms the need for a platform that celebrates the skill and determination of both male and female athletes. These events not only break down traditional barriers but also offer fans an exhilarating opportunity to witness golf in its most dynamic and unified form. By combining thrilling competition with engaging streaming content, we are setting a new standard for the sport."
Jeremy Aisenberg, a globally recognized golf executive and Advisor to NXXT Golf, praised the organization’s innovative approach: "NXXT Golf's vision to develop and execute bold ideas like the Battle of the Sexes is precisely the kind of disruptive competitive golf that athletes, fans, and sponsors have been seeking. The engagement on social media channels for such events often surpasses traditional golf broadcasts, highlighting a significant shift in audience preferences."
Set to launch in April 2025, following the conclusion of the NXXT Women’s Pro Tour, the Battle of the Sexes series will feature gender-neutral fields where women and men compete for the top prize. With yardages carefully adjusted—women teeing off from the LPGA average of 6,400 yards and men from the PGA average of 7,300 yards—the competition ensures a fair and balanced environment. This format offers fans an unparalleled chance to see who the best golfer is, regardless of gender, in a series set to take place at some of the world’s most prestigious venues.
Pioneering Change in Women’s Golf
NXXT Golf continues to lead the way in fostering fairness and integrity within professional golf. In March 2024, the organization introduced a landmark eligibility policy requiring participants to be “female at birth,” reaffirming its dedication to equitable opportunities for women in the sport. This bold move, along with the creation of the Battle of the Sexes series, underscores NXXT Golf’s commitment to breaking barriers and setting a new standard for inclusivity and competition in golf.
NXXT Women’s Pro Tour: A Platform for Excellence
As part of its steadfast commitment to women’s professional golf, NXXT Golf will continue to host the NXXT Women’s Pro Tour every winter season. Operating in partnership with the LPGA, the tour provides critical progression pathways, including Epson Tour exemptions, allowing female athletes to compete at the highest levels of the sport.
The current 2024 season features 13 championship events running from November through March, with a spectacular kickoff at the prestigious Club Adena on November 9, 2024. The season will conclude in March 2025. Looking ahead, the 2025/26 season will run from November 2025 through March 2026. The NXXT Women’s Pro Tour continues to attract top global talent, offering professional golfers a platform to compete during the traditional off-season of the LPGA and Epson Tours, ensuring competitive opportunities year-round.
